Song Cover

The song I decided to do for my Cover Song is Lips of An Angel. This song, since the first time I heard it gave me this extremely emotional connection to it. I just felt for the characters. The first version I heard of this song was Jack Ingram's country version, I loved it right away! I did, however, feel very sad for the characters in the story. I felt like the love for the other woman was an old love, someone you never forget. I also wondered what went wrong, how come they weren't together? The overall feeling I get when I hear this song is a real love that was lost.

The Hinder version of this song is rock and very intense. Even though the song lyrics are exactly the same I feel very different about the two. The Hinder version makes me upset and anger. I feel as though the character in the song is a rocker someone who brought the issue upon himself. Almost like his lifestyle is about hurting different women just to get what he wants.

Overall, I feel the the country version is very personal and intimate. The rock version is just a man having anyone he wants, and them falling madly in love with him. I really feel that country songs help me relate more to the characters on an emotional level than rock.

Who We Are

This book was nothing how I expected it to be. I think the author does an amazing job of keeping the reader interested by the confusion with the sex of the narrator. I loved how the love story felt like a real life situation, not a fantasy. I chose to write from a male and female point of view on the novel.

Married women, no strings, and an awesome flat to go with it, that sounds like the life to me. The main character has it all, so why does he keep falling in love and losing it? When starting to read this book I had no idea where it was going but I related to it. I have had those one night stands, those weeked get aways but never have I obsessed over a women like he does in the novel. They are just women, at my age I have no desire to settle down at all. I know what kind of women work with my lifestyle and which ones don't.

I found it very wierd the way the main character was only thinking about Louise the whole book. The way he describes her in medical terms, phyco. I know there comes a point when every dude is ready to settle down but I hope that when I get to that point Im not as misriable as the main character. Ya I understand Louise has cancer but he should have never ran away and left her. As men we have to be the stronger partner, the leader, and the control of the household. I think the main character just made every man look bad in this novel. Stand up and take care of your business, be a man!

But why can't the main character be confused? Why can't a person make a decision and change their mind? I very much enjoyed the way the novel resembled my life, or the caios of it. In love with someone you cant have, but still there for them whenever they need you. One day wanting something and another not. One thing was forsure through out the novel, the main characters need for the female body. It made me want to be the object of the main characters desire.

I hope that there is someone out there longing for me like in this novel, don't we all? We have read it in all our fairtale books, our prince. I just hope that there is someone, it doesn't matter male or female just someone for everyone.

Skim

Young love or lust? I my be 21 but I feel when I was 16 I wasn't testing the waters of my sexuality. This novel was very unpredictable, did Skim and Ms. A kiss? Do we know if Skim is a lesbian or just confused? This watch craft that is discussed a lot, is this a new fad in High Schools? I feel that Skim was just trying to find someway to fit in now matter with who. I feel that if Ms. A really did have relations with Skim it only exiled her more from her friends and family. I felt the ending of the novel was very well done, who in real life always solves there problems? We don't, we just move on and learn.

Female Desire

FEMALE DESIRE

Do we as women want men to get pregnant? This natural gift/burden should it be given options? Does it matter who carries ones child? Is this picture something all women desire at some point? I feel that being a women means I can have a child and a man cant! Having children is what I want to do and can't wait, I won't give it up for anything!

La Perdida

A comic was that what I am suppose to read? That was the first question that came to mind when I first started reading La Perdida. When trying to follow this novel it was very difficult, I have never read comics before and didn't know how to follow it. I feel that the comic features gave the novel more interest when I found the actual content very predictable. I did not like the form this novel was in, but I was exciting to read just because it was so different.

Marriage at 11

Mr. Cosey, I liked him in the beginning of the novel. He was a warm, giving, and God like character throughout the story. When I finished the book, I found myself in discuss with Mr. Cosey. To me, Mr. Cosey became a pervert, child molester, and a rich man with major mental issues. From reading this novel I was reassured with my prior conception of people with money, they can get away with murder, or child molesting. You take your pick..."There's a difference between virgins and children."

Females and our orgasms

The female orgasm is a topic I had trouble talking about. When do you start to talk about these topics to your friends, or family? According to Walker, one decides on their own when they're ready to explore these topics no matter what age. I at 11 was not interested in the least with sex, but I was interested in how to kiss, and or hold hands properly. I feel that for a female to properly enjoy the full pleasures of sex they must be comfortable with themselves first. A female must except her own body and also know her body. I wish I would have been more comfortable with myself at a younger age like Walker. I wonder if I would be a different person today?
